Update on ITC Deer Park Incident

The Harris County Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Management (HCOHSEM) continues to work with response partners to monitor events related to the Intercontinental Terminals Company (ITC) incident in the City of Deer Park. Harris County remains focused on the health and safety of the entire community.

According to Harris County Public Health (HCPH), current health-related data from multiple sources show there is no longer an immediate health threat for the general public. However, monitoring for longer-term impact continues. Any individuals who have health concerns should contact their health care provider or if more serious, call 911. If you do not have a healthcare provider, you can find a local health center near you at https://findahealthcenter.hrsa.gov/, or you can call the Harris Health System’s ‘Ask My Nurse’ helpline – open from 8 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. daily – to help answer basic health questions. The number is (713) 634-1110.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) continue to direct the public to their new interactive map on the TCEQ’s website for updates on the ITC response. Reports on air and water quality are available at https://www.tceq.texas.gov/response/itc-terminal-fire-update.
