What is the danger?
The National Weather Service (NWS) continues to monitor a tropical wave moving into the western Gulf of Mexico. Currently, it only has a 20 percent chance of developing into a tropical depression or tropical storm over the next 48 hours. Heavy rainfall is expected to continue today and through at least Tuesday.
The current dry conditions will cause much of the rainfall to be absorbed in the ground. However, heavy rainfall over a short period could produce isolated areas of street flooding and ponding.
