Tropical Storm Nestor Forms With No Threat to Texas
What is the danger?
Tropical Storm Nestor is the fourteenth named storm of the 2019 Atlantic Hurricane Season and is currently located over the northeastern Gulf of Mexico. According to the
National Hurricane Center (NHC), Nestor is expected to strengthen until it makes landfall in the Florida Panhandle on Saturday morning.
Nestor currently poses no threat to Texas.
What you should do:
While Nestor is not a threat to Texas, resources are available for those recovering from Tropical Storm Imelda.

Disaster Unemployment - Individuals who lost their jobs or self-employed individuals who have been unable to work due to damage sustained from Tropical Storm Imelda may be eligible for Disaster Unemployment Assistance benefits.
- Apply for disaster unemployment assistance through the Texas Workforce Commission online at https://twc.texas.gov/jobseekers/disaster-unemployment-assistance or through the TWC TeleCenter at 800-939-6631 Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- The last day to apply is November 7, 2019.
